Cornwall’s First disAbility
Awareness Day, held at the Royal Cornwall Showground on Sunday 20th July,
has been hailed as a great success. Despite the rain in the afternoon
the event attracted 200 exhibitors and an attendance exceeding five thousand
consisting of both able-bodied and disAbled persons of all ages, which
goes to show the need for an event like this in Cornwall.
The event was well attended and supported by the media including The
South West’s Pirate FM, Radio Cornwall, BBC1 Spotlight and the
press. Pirate FM enthusiastically entertained the crowds from the main
stage where Allen Fleckney, Bob McCreadie and Duncan Warren provided
the musical interludes and commentary. Radio Cornwall also broadcast
from the showground with interviews by David Halliwell and Janeatte
Eathorne. [more....] |
